As the scientific level evolves, the domestic community of Research Centers must remain internationally competitive through strengthening research infrastructures and increasing human resources. Therefore, the project “Creation – Expansion – Upgrade of the Research Centers infrastructures supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI)” aims to upgrade/expand the infrastructure of the Research Centers in Greece to enhance their research capacity and capabilities in critical areas of science and technology, with a vital challenge being the promotion of R & D programs in cutting edge technologies and the reversal of “brain drain”.

The main strategic priorities of the project are:

• The strengthening of the infrastructure of the country’s Research and Technological Bodies
• The creation of an environment that encourages the development of innovation of research and technological bodies supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology.
• The strengthening of the position of Research and Technological Bodies in the European and International research landscape

The project is implemented through the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan “Greece 2.0” framework with European Union funding – NextGenerationEU.
