The company under the corporate name “Heraklion Port Authority S.A.” (HRA S.A.) has the right to exclusively use and operate the land, buildings and infrastructure of the port of Heraklion until January 2063. The Company has also currently administrative jurisdiction over the satellite facilities of a) the Old Venetian Port, b) the port of Linoperamata and c) the fishing shelters of Loutra, Keratokambos and Arvi, however the Old Venetian Port will be excluded during the second stage of the Tender.
The main activities of HRA S.A. comprise the provision of berthing to ships, dry bulk and conventional general cargo, cruise port services, as well as coastal ferry operations and passengers’ services.
Pursuant to the decision No. 222/05.11.2012 of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Restructuring and Privatisations (GG 2296/B/2012), shares corresponding to 100% of the share capital of the “Heraklion Port Authority S.A.” were transferred to HRADF.
HRADF has appointed “Deloitte Business Solutions – Euroconsultants” as financial advisor, “Fortsakis – Diakopoulos – Mylonogiannis & Associates Law” Firm as legal advisor and “Doxiadis Associates, Consultants on Development and Ekistics S.A.”, as technical advisor.
