The sustainable long-term development of the area around the Vassilitsa National Ski Center (“Vassilitsa NSC” or “VNSC”) is a priority of the State. In this context, article 26 of Law 5025/2023 (Government Gazette A’ 42/24.02.2023) assigned HRADF to conduct a tender on behalf of the Greek State with the aim of developing the facilities managed by the Public Law Legal Entity “National Ski Center of Vassilitsa”. Based on the above, the Vassilitsa NSC can be developed and upgraded to attract a larger volume of tourism, boosting both the local and the national economy. By virtue of no. 233851/15.05.2023 of the Decision of the Ministers of Finance, Culture and Sports (Government Gazette B’ 3366/19.05.2023) HRADF was assigned the development of the facilities of the Vassilitsa NSC with the aim of modernizing, improving and expanding the facilities and the services provided.
The Vassilitsa NSC spans an area of approximately 6,200 thousand square meters, which is located in the mountains “Vassilitsa” and “Balduma”. Administratively, most of it belongs to the Municipality of Grevena, in the Region of West Macedonia (5,236 thousand sq.m., about 85% of the total area) and a smaller part belongs to the Municipality of Konitsa, in the Region of Epirus (962.22 thousand sq.m., approximately 15% of the total area). It has 7 lifts installed which serve the 18 existing downhill slopes, including two beginner slopes.
HRADF will conduct a two-phase tender process for the granting of the right to use, operate, manage and monetize the Vassilitsa NSC.
