The company under the name “Volos Port Authority” S.A. (O.L.V. S.A.) has the right to use and exploit the Port of Volos, the marine facilities of the fishing shelter located at the eastern end of the city’s seashore, as well as the port facilities of Almyros and Agria. The Concession Agreement between the State and the V.P.A. S.A. has a duration of 60 years from its signing and expires in 2062. The main activities of V.P.A. S.A. include freight and container services, steel and scrap metal, dry and wet bulk cargo along with passenger services, including ferry boats to the Sporades islands, as well as cruise activities.
With the decision 222/05.11.2012 of the Interministerial Committee for Restructuring and Privatization, shares corresponding to 100% of the share capital of “Volos Port Authority S.A.” were transferred to HRADF.
HRADF has appointed Deloitte Business Solutions S.A. and Euroconsultants S.A. to act jointly as financial advisors and Doxiadis Associates has assumed the duties of technical advisor regarding the tendering process and the transaction.
