According to the Joint Ministerial Decision 8315.2/02/07 (GG Β’ 202) the port of Zakynthos is listed among Ports of International Interest and according to article 19 of Law 2932/2001 the port is obliged to have a master plan.

According to the resolution nr. 89/11.11.2021, the Port Planning Development Committee (ESAL) has provided a positive opinion for the master plan of Zakynthos port. The procedure for the public consultation of the strategic impact assessment study and the approval of the master plan by virtue of a presidential degree will follow.

The port of Zakynthos is located in the center of the coastline of Zakynthos and it is managed by the Port Authority of Zakynthos.

According to article 1 of the Ministerial Decision no 3000.0/87202/2023 (ΦΕΚ B’ 7380/27.12.2023), HRADF acts as a Planning Authority in relation to the port of Zakynthos.
