The contract for the establishment and transfer of a surface right for 99 years over the property and the pre-agreed subsequent transfer of full ownership of a part thereof, was signed on 19 May 2015, following acceptance by HRADF of the offer made by TE.NA. ATEVE, which was improved by 30% and amounted to €2,628,000. The special purpose vehicle established to develop the Skiathos Xenia Hotel has the corporate name TENAMAR S.A.
TE.NA ATEVE, is a construction company based in Ptolemaida, and is active in the construction of public and private projects.
The property is in an advantageous location west of Koukounaries, the most famous beach of all the Sporades islands, in a lush hilly area of unparalleled natural beauty, with an amazing an unobstructed view of the Aegean and Strofylia lake.
The property is 11 km from Skiathos town, where the port and commercial center of the island are located, 14 km from the “Alexandros Papadiamantis” Skiathos Airport, and has direct access to and is serviced by the Skiathos-Koukounaries road axis.
It should be noted that the Skiathos Xenia Hotel (area 2,543 m2), which was designed by architect G. Nikoletopoulos and was built in 1963, has been out of operation and abandoned since 2000, while it has been listed because of its special architecture and its historical importance.
Its development has led to the creation of a 5-star hotel that respects history and the natural environment, with multiple benefits for the local community and its economy, since it contributes to the upgrade and further development of the tourist product of the island of Skiathos and creates a significant number of jobs.
